Why do you want to join Banking Industry?
Reason: During the interview, The IBPS panel will definitely want to know your reason for joining the banking industry. AND, the reason must be sound. Answers like Banking is a stable sector, or Banking is a reputable job won’t make the cut. Banking is a service. The panel wants to know why YOU think you are fit for a service sector.
Why don’t you try in your own field? (in case you are from a different stream)

Answers like job satisfaction and job security will incur terrible cross questioning. Keep in mind, of all the IBPS Interview Questions, this one is the most important one. What is job satisfaction? What is job security? Any banker (INCLUDING ME) knows this is just bluff. There is hardly any job satisfaction. Most of the time, the pressure on a banker is tremendous. Job security? There’s no such thing in today’s world. Prepare an answer that goes well with your personality and is realistic than idealistic.

Reason: The IBPS Interview panel asks this question to know how much you know about yourself. Almost everyone focuses on his/her strengths. But talk about weakness and you’ll get vague answers. A weakness should be something that is desirable in an employee from an employer point of view. Example, sometimes I get over involved at my work and can’t devote too much time to my family. This is a weakness, but an employer wants an overindulging employee. Besides, everyone knows after Banking industry, your social life becomes as good as nil. However, you’ll also get cross questioning on your weakness. Like “what are you doing to rectify it”? A probable answer can be better management of your work.
